SHERIFF ISSUES PROMOTIONS IN PATROL DIVISION
Story Image Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor E.Jones Jr. has announced the following promotions within the patrol division of the Sheriff's Office.

The promotions were based on each supervisor's ability to do their work,including their ability to motivate, supervise, and lead subordinates during the tour of duty.

Each deputy recently completed a 24-hour leadership training course.

This course effectively combines an individual assessment tool with essential management and leadership competencies for practical application by first line law enforcement supervisors.

Deputy Ronnie Ross was promoted to Patrol Shift "B" Sergeant. Ross has 7 1/2 years of service. Ross is assigned to west Natchitoches Parish.

Deputy Brian Powell was promoted to Patrol Shift "C" Lieutenant. Powell has 9 years of service. Powell is assigned to central Natchitoches Parish.

Deputy Kenneth "Huey" Martin was promoted to Patrol Shift "C" Sergeant. Martin has 8 years of service. Martin is assigned to north Natchitoches Parish.

Sergeant Craig LaCour was promoted to Shift "D" Lieutenant. LaCour has 8 years of service. LaCour is assigned to north Natchitoches Parish.

Deputy Billy Shugart was promoted to Shift "D" Sergeant. Shugart has 9 1/2 years of service. Shugart is assigned to west Natchitoches Parish.

The promotions were recommended to Sheriff Jones after interviews were completed by Patrol Chief Siggie Silvie Jr., Lieutenants Doug Rachal and Tony Moran.

The patrol division covers the parish 24 hours daily and is responsible for patrolling area communities and roadways. The patrol division answers calls for service, makes arrests, conducts escorts, assists stranded motorists, and serves warrants, subpoenas, and other civil papers.

All patrol units are now equipped with mobile data terminal computers, and most are equipped with onboard video camera's to record video and audio of traffic stops, and calls for service.
