GORUM MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES
GORUM, LA.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Gorum man on drug charges according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

Sheriff’s deputies were working in the Gorum area on Tuesday evening at approximately 8:00pm, when Deputy Victor Kay stopped a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck on La. Hwy 119 at its intersection with the Gorum Cemetary Road for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle, seizing suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a Henry Arms .22 caliber rifle.

Kevin Lynn Maxey, 29, 8425 Hwy 119, Gorum, La., was booked into the Natchitoches Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS I Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernlia, Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Expired Drivers License, and No Vehicle Compulsary Insurance.

The vehicle was stored by a local wrecker service.

Deputies also learned that Maxie has a prior CDS I narcotics violation pending in Rapides Parish.

NPSO Criminal Patrol Units assisted in the investigation.
