Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a Natchez man on felony drug charges according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

Sheriff's Criminal Patrol Units stopped a 1985 Nissan pickup truck on the Shady Grove Road near Robeline, on Sunday evening at approximately 8:00pm for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, deputies suspected criminal activity obtaining permission to search the vehicle and occupants seizing suspected crystal methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Gerald L. Nelson, 45 of 3215 Old River Road, Natchez, La. was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule II Crystal Methamphetamines and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Nelson was later released on a $6000 criminal bond set by Tenth Judicial District Court Judge Dee Hawthorne.
