PROVENCAL MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH VIOLATION OF SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION LAWS
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Provencal man for Violation of Louisiana Sex Offender Laws according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

Jessie L. Thompson, 27 of 443 Winn Street, Provencal, La., was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center after turning himself into Provencal Police charged with 1-Count of Failure to notify law enforcement of a change of address, 1-Count of Failure to notify (Mail Notifications), and 1-Count of Failure to pay registration fees.

The State of Louisiana requires sex offenders to adhere to strict rules and regulations.

Thompson was convicted in the 10th Judicial District Court during June of 2000 for Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. He was sentenced to the Department of Corrections and released in 2005, at which time he was to begin his registration process for 15 years.

The arrest is a result of Thompson’s failure to comply with registration requirements.

Thompson remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. Bond is set at $150,000.00.

Sheriff Victor Jones, has recently assigned a deputy to tracking, and assuring that sex offenders in Natchitoches Parish are in compliance with La. Sex Offender Registration Laws.
