NATCHITOCHES – A Natchitoches woman is in custody today after being charged Sunday night with one count of attempted-second degree murder in connection with a stabbing incident that injured her former boyfriend and new girlfriend as they slept at their residence in Natchez according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr. Aliesha D. Thompson, 21, also set the residence on fire prior to breaking in and attacking the victims, but the fire burned out and only caused minor damage to the residence, according to Jones. The stabbing victims are not being identified, Jones said. Both were transported to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, where the female was hospitalized for surgery and the male was treated of moderate injuries and released. Thompson, who was arrested after a day-long investigation, has previous arrests for stalking, simple arson and criminal damage to property relating to an incident involving a previous boyfriend. Thompson is incarcerated at the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center without bond. The investigation is continuing by the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division. |
