Title:  NPSO DETECTIVES INVESTIGATING ROAD SIGN THEFTS IN NORTH NATCHITOCHES PARISH NEAR FAIRVIEW ALPHA
Date:  08/10/2017

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Detectives are currently investigating the theft of several parish road signs in the Fairview Alpha area of north Natchitoches Parish according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office.

The road signs were found by a private land owner dumped on his property in the 4000 block of La. Hwy 480 on Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division and Natchitoches Parish Highway Department responded to the scene to collect the road signs.

The signs are believed to have been stolen within the last couple of nights from the areas of Davis Springs, Coulee Loop, Collier Hill, and Billy Holman Roads.

On Thursday morning, NPSO Detectives spoke with parish highway officials concerning the thefts. An investigation is currently ongoing into the person or person's responsible for these acts.

Deputies say road signs not only assist motorists of locations of parish roads but they also assist law enforcement, EMS and fire by saving valuable seconds when responding to emergency calls and calls for service.

If you have any information concerning the theft of road signs please contact Detective Craig LaCour at 357-7830.
