Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Campti man on drug charges according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.
On Sunday evening at approximately 7:28pm, Sheriff’s Criminal Patrol Units stopped a 1987 Buick LeSabre on US-71 in Campti for a traffic violation.
During the traffic stop, deputies learned that the violators drivers license was suspended. Deputies suspected criminal activity, obtaining permission to search the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle, resulted in the seizure of suspected marijuana.
Willie Carpenter Jr. , of the 100 block of St. Titus Church Road, Campti, La., was booked at the Natchitoches Parish Sheriffs Office charged with Possession of CDS Schedule I Marijuana, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of Persons under the age of 17 and Driving under Suspension.
Carpenter has been released on bond pending his court appearance.
A 5 yeard old child present in the vehicle was released to a parent.
