NEAR NATCHITOCHES, LA.
 
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office during a traffic stop on Interstate-49 south of Natchitoches according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.
 
Sheriff’s Deputies were working on Interstate-49 just south of Natchitoches, on Sunday morning at approximately 8:48am, when they stopped a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche for a traffic violation.
 
During the traffic stop, deputies learned that the violator’s drivers license was suspended and that he was wanted on two outstanding warrants through the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriffs Office for 2-counts of Felony Theft over $500.
 
Curtis James Brumfield, 40 of the 3000 block of Evangeline Street, Baton Rouge, La. was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriffs Office on 2-Counts of Failure to Appear on Felony Theft.
 
Brumfield awaits transfer to East Baton Rouge.
 
Deputy Benjamin Phelps made the arrest.
