Title: NPSO Detectives Arrest Two People in Connection with Unauthorized Use of Access Card Fuel Purchases
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested two people in connection with the Unauthorized Use of an Access Card according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.
On Thursday April 25th, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report from Chain Electric Company management that a company fuel card had been used unauthorized to purchase over $13,500 dollars worth of fuel in Natchitoches,Rapides, Vernon, Red River, Grant, Winn Parishes and the State of Texas.
During the investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance video at numerous locations in Natchitoches Parish where the unauthorized purchases were made, identifying a person of interest, whom had just recently been terminated from the company, according to Chief of Investigations Greg Dunn.
While reviewing credit card statements and reviewing the surveillance video, detectives also learned that the suspect had purchased near $958 dollars worth of fuel at a Campti conveinance store in less than twenty minutes.
Detectives have also learned and are attempting to identify numerous subjects that obtained free fuel from the gas pumps of Campti area conveinance stores while the suspect was inside the business paying for the unauthorized fuel purchases on April 18th-21st.
Detectives ask that if you obtained free fuel at any of these businesses during these dates from the suspect to contact the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 318-357-7725.
Detectives say $8964.71 of unauthorized fuel purchases were made in Natchitoches Parish.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested:
*Jefferson L. Erwin Jr., 32 of the 100 block of G Salard Road, Campti, La., was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on April 29th, charged with 94-counts of Unauthorized Use of an Access Card, and Improper Telephone Communications on a prior active criminal warrant.
Erwin on parole remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
*Charlene Michelle Harper, 29 of the 700 block of Stump Camp Road, Winnfield, La., booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on April 29th, charged with 1-count of Forgery in connection with the case, and Failure to Appear in the Tenth Judicial District Court on March 4th, on a prior Illegal Possession of Stolen Things arrest.
Harper remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
Additional charges are pending through other respective law enforcement agencies.
