Title:  FLATWOODS METHAMPHETAMINE LAB INVESTIGATION CONTINUES; ADDITIONAL ARRESTS MADE

A joint investigation, by the Natchitoches Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force, and Rapides Metro Narcotis Unit into the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamines on Smith Road, in Southwest Natchitoches Parish has led to two additional arrests according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.

On February 7th,  agents executed three search warrants at 383 Smith Road, 387 Smith Road, and a abandoned residence,  which resulted in the seizure of active methamphetamine labs among the residences, and estimate  remnants and remains of nearly (50) prior clandestine labs or “cooks”.  Five children ranging in ages of 7-10 were present, living in and around the hazardous chemicals, according to Asst. Chief of  Investigations Task Force Agent Roger Henson.

As a result, on February 7th,  Greg Setliff, 33, 383 Smith Road, Flatwoods, La., Gretta Dewitt, 38, 383 Smith Road, Flatwoods, La.,  Michael Anthony “Brute” Smith, 37, 387 Smith Road, Flatwoods, La.,  Juanna Green, 28, 387 Smith Road, Flatwoods, La.,  Glenda S. Edwards, 56,  387 Smith Road, Flatwoods, La., and Melinda S. Bennett, 42, 193 Setliff Road, Mora, La. , were all charged with multiple narcotics offenses.    They remain incarcerated.

On, Tuesday February 12th,  Natchitoches Multi-jurisdictional Task Force Agents continued the investigation and began a round-up of other suspects involved in the active investigation:

Arrested were:

Jewel B. “Junior” Green Jr.,  52, 385 Smith Road, Flatwoods, La. , booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with:
7-counts of Manufacturing of CDS Schedule II Methamphetamines 1-count of Creation and Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory 1-count of Possession of CDS Schedule II Methamphetamine 1-count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1-count of Cruelty to Juveniles 1-count of Illegal Possession of Firearms during a narcotics offense

Dennis Setliff,  843 Boones Road,  Flatwoods, La. , was arrested with Green at residence on La. Hwy 119, west of Gorum, La. , on outstanding Rapides Parish criminal warrants relative to a Methamphetamine Lab investigation in Rapides Parish.

Mark W. Smith Jr.,  30, 27 Allen-Martin Road, Sharp, La. , was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center after turning himself into authorities charged with:

7-counts of Manufacturing CDS Schedule II Methamphetamines 1-count of Creation and Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory 1-count of Possession of Drug  Paraphernalia 1-count of Cruelty to Juveniles 1-count of Illegal Possession of Firearms during a narcotics offense.

All suspects remain incarcerated.

Asst. Chief of Investigations Task Force Agent Roger Henson, said that other arrests are pending as this intensive investigation continues into the illegal manufacturing of methamphetamines in the Flatwoods area of Natchitoches Parish.
