Title:  SWEPCO REPORTS APPROXIMATELY 5004 POWER OUTAGES IN NATCHITOCHES PARISH; PATROLS INCREASED IN POWER OUTAGE AREAS

Update: 4:00 PM, 12/20/2012
A strong line of storms with damaging winds up to 60 mph moved through all of SWEPCO's three-state service territory Wednesday night and Thursday morning, causing outages to 64,200 customers. As of 4 p.m. today, approximately 5,004 customers were without power throughout Natchitoches Parish. An additional 312 line and support resources are arriving to assist with power restoration. SWEPCO continues to work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
 
Statement from Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office:
 
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr. along with Natchitoches Parish Assistant Homeland Security and Office of Emergency Prepardeness Director Deputy Jenny Perkins, advised that Sheriff’s patrol deputies have been assigned to place special patrol emphasis in areas of Natchitoches Parish with power outages.
 
Deputies will continue patrols throughout the night.
